Positions 1–4 are shape, relief angle, tolerance class, and hole/chipbreaker type — identical letters in ANSI and ISO. The number block differs: ANSI is IC in 1/8ths, thickness in 1/16ths, radius in 1/64ths. ISO is edge-length code, thickness code, and radius in tenths of a millimetre.
